Hunger striker Binu and Women Minister Badi hold talks
Kathmandu: Minister for Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security, Sita Badi, held a meeting with Binu Yadav, who has been on a sit-in at the main gate of the Singha Durbar for the past few days.

At the meeting held at the ministry today, Yadav presented to the minister the demands she has been raising, concerns related to acquiring justice, health treatment, livelihood and issues related to her case.
Minister Badi’s secretariat stated that she has requested the authorities concerned to carry forward the necessary procedures impartially and effectively in accordance with the law.
On the occasion, Minister Badi expressed the ministry’s seriousness and sensitivity to Yadav’s requests and concerns, and assured that necessary initiatives, coordination, and facilitation would be provided on matters within the ministry’s scope. She expressed confidence that the ministry would effectively fulfil its role by coordinating with the relevant bodies to advance matters properly according to the law.
During the meeting, there was discussion about conducting a detailed examination of Yadav’s health condition, providing necessary medical treatment, and offering support for employment and livelihood.
Additionally, it was discussed that other issues raised by her would be forwarded to the relevant bodies for necessary action and investigation, and matters under consideration in court would be addressed through judicial processes in accordance with the prevailing law.
Minister Badi also stated that the government is always sensitive to citizens’ complaints and concerns, emphasising a victim-friendly approach.
