Kathmandu: The Upper House of the federal parliament, the National Assembly, passed the ‘Finance Bill, 2083’.

With the passage, the bill will be sent back to the House of Representatives (HoR), the Lower House. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle had presented the Bill for the clause-wise discussion along with a message from HoR.

His proposal for the deliberation was passed by majority vote. Earlier, Dr Wagle had presented the proposal at the NA meeting, seeking the passage of the Bill without additional comments and return to the HoR.

Taking part in the discussion, NA members Dr Prem Dangal, Samjhana Devkota, Roshani Meche and Somnath Portel expressed concern over imposing tax on education and health services.

In the zero hour, the NA members drew the government’s attention to ensure food and safe housing for landless squatters.
