Snakebite cases rise in Sarlahi amid increasing heat
Sarlahi: Snakebite cases have increased in Sarlahi as temperatures continue to rise.
The Snakebite Treatment Centre at Nawalpur in Lalbandi Municipality has treated 305 snakebite patients since the beginning of this year, more than during the same period last year.
Health workers say three to seven patients visit the centre every day. They attribute the rise in cases to hotter weather, which forces snakes out of bushes and burrows in search of food.
Most patients are treated at the centre, while severe cases involving venomous snakes are referred to Janakpur for specialised treatment.
Health workers have also urged people to seek immediate medical care instead of relying on traditional healing practices after snakebites.
