USA thrash Paraguay in World Cup

Los Angeles (USA): The United States made an impressive start to their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign with a 4-1 victory over Paraguay in Group D.

Playing in Los Angeles, the co-hosts dominated the match to secure all three points in their opening fixture. Paraguay managed a late consolation goal, but the United States sealed a convincing win with a fourth goal in the closing stages.

In another match played earlier, co-host Canada were held to a 1-1 draw by Bosnia and Herzegovina in their Group B opener.
