Nepal enters semifinal of Asian Games Women’s Cricket qualifier
Kathmandu: The Nepali women’s cricket team has entered the semifinals of the Asian Games Cricket Qualifier, 2026, by defeating Indonesia.

In the match played at Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Thursday, Nepal reached the semifinals with a four-wicket victory. It is Nepal’s second consecutive win in the tournament.
In the first match earlier, Nepal had secured victory against China by 19 runs. Put to bat first, Indonesia had posted 113 runs for the loss of four wickets in the limited 20 overs. Nepal chased the target for the loss of six wickets in 19.3 overs.
Captain Indu Sharma had significantly contributed an unbeaten 42 runs for Nepal. Likewise, Soni Pakharin and Sita Ranamagar scored 29 and 13 runs, respectively, to steer Nepal to victory. For Indonesia, captain NI Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini scored an unbeaten 56 off 62 balls.
NI Luh Ketut Wesika Ratna Dewi made 23 while NI Made Putri Suwandewi scored 13. Towards bowling, Nepal’s Manisha Upadhyay took two wickets for nine runs.
Likewise, Riya Sharma picked one wicket. Indu Sharma was declared the ‘player of the match’ in the qualifier of the Asian Games.
