Govt to Launch Diplomatic Efforts to Bring More International Airlines to Pokhara and Gautam Buddha Airports
Kathmandu, May 11: The government has announced that diplomatic initiatives will be undertaken to attract more international airlines to operate flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport and Pokhara International Airport.
Presenting the government’s policies and programmes at a joint session of the Federal Parliament on Monday, Ramchandra Paudel said the government would focus on expanding reliable and competitive air services by strengthening aviation infrastructure, ensuring full operation of international airports and modernising airport facilities.
The government also announced plans to introduce structural reforms in the civil aviation sector, increase private sector participation and implement international aviation safety standards.
According to the policies and programmes, tourist visa services will be fully integrated into an online system. The government also plans to install e-gate systems at international airports to reduce passenger waiting time and improve service delivery.
