National Cleanliness Week to Begin in Government Offices from Monday
Kathmandu, May 10: The government is set to launch a National Cleanliness Week from Monday across all government offices at the federal, provincial and local levels.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the campaign aims to promote a clean, healthy and well-organised working environment in public institutions and educational establishments.
Subarna Bajracharya, a section officer at the Office, said that detailed guidelines have already been issued for implementing the cleanliness week across offices nationwide.
The campaign will be formally inaugurated at Bir Hospital at 8:30 am on Monday in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population. Joint Spokesperson Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari said the programme will also be launched simultaneously in all hospitals nationwide.
The guidelines include indicators for assessing office cleanliness, sanitation facilities, hygiene standards, waste management, cleanliness in schools and public places, canteen and kitchen hygiene, service recipient experience, and institutional sustainability.
Officials said the initiative is expected to strengthen hygiene practices and improve overall cleanliness standards in public institutions nationwide.
