Government clarifies no plans to demolish or vacate Tribhuvan University cricket ground

Kathmandu: The government has decided to include the Security Printing Center in the list of public entities that are allowed to engage in commercial activities in competition with the private sector.
While informing about the decisions of the Cabinet meeting held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, and Government Spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel stated that a notice regarding the inclusion of the Security Printing Center in the list of public entities will be published in the Nepal Gazette.
Spokesperson Pokharel also informed that a decision has been made to promote and appoint Armed Police Force Additional Inspector General (AIG) Narayan Dutta Poudel to the post of Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Nepal.
Similarly, Government Spokesperson Pokharel mentioned that the Cabinet meeting has approved the Customs Regulation 2083 BS with the aim of bringing improvements in the economic sector.
In response to journalists’ queries regarding the issue of vacating the Tribhuvan University cricket ground, which has been in recent discussion, Spokesperson Pokharel clarified that discussions held today with the Vice-Chancellor and other officials of Tribhuvan University were positive, and that the government has no intention to demolish or vacate the ground.
Minister Pokharel further stated that since the lease period of the TU cricket ground has expired, the ground will be continued through a new rental agreement.
Likewise, in response to queries about the government’s 100-day action plan and the 30-day performance evaluation, Minister Pokharel said that the government has been continuously refining itself based on feedback and evaluation from citizens, and that the current government is firmly moving toward achieving its 100-day targets.
