Commerce Department Intensifies Market Monitoring Drive
Kathmandu, April 14: The Department of Commerce, Supply and Consumer Protection has intensified market monitoring efforts to curb black marketing and ensure consumer rights.
On Monday, the Department inspected 54 firms, checking compliance with business standards and regulations. The monitoring drive focused on business outlets in the Khasibazar area of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14.
According to the Department, firms found violating the business code and posing risks to consumer health were taken action under the Consumer Protection Act, 2075 BS.
Authorities said all inspected businesses were directed to improve their operations and adhere to proper standards. The monitoring team included consumer rights defenders and concerned stakeholders.
