Rafting Season Kicks Off on Kaligandaki River

Myagdi, March 29: Tourism entrepreneurs from Pokhara have launched rafting activities on the Kaligandaki River, focusing on attracting domestic tourists.

The rafting route spans from Farse in Jaljala Rural Municipality, Parbat, to Nayapul in Kushma Municipality, aiming to extend the stay of visitors to Pokhara. The event was organised by the Pokhara Visit Year Implementation Committee and included tourism entrepreneurs, local representatives, industrialists, businessmen, and media personnel.

Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, coordinator of the committee, stated that 38 people participated in the inaugural rafting trip. The 10-kilometre stretch from Farse to Nayapul takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the site is reachable in two hours by car from Pokhara. Tourists can also explore nearby destinations, including Kushma, Baglung, Beni, and Galeshwor.

The committee had previously promoted rafting on the Marsyangdi and Seti rivers as part of the Pokhara Visit Year campaign. The months of Kartik and Chaitra in the Lunar Calendar are considered ideal for rafting activities.
