Light rain and snowfall expected in parts of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces

Kathmandu, March 24: The hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Madhesh, and Lumbini provinces are mostly cloudy today, while other parts of Nepal remain partly cloudy.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecasting Division has predicted light rain and snowfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, in some areas of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

This afternoon, the hilly and Himalayan regions, including Koshi Province, are expected to remain generally cloudy. Partly cloudy conditions will continue in the Tarai. Light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning may occur in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, and in one or two places in other hilly areas.

Tonight, the hilly and Himalayan regions are expected to stay mostly cloudy, while the Tarai will remain clear. Some places in Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces may experience light rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning, with a few occurrences in other hilly regions.

The department stated that the country is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds along with local winds.
