On Air Station:

Police urge public to take precautions amid rising air pollution

Kathmandu: The Nepal Police Headquarters has warned that air pollution is rising sharply in Kathmandu and other major cities, urging the public to take necessary precautions.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Avi Narayan Kafle, Central Spokesperson, said citizens are advised to stay home unless necessary, reduce vehicle use by travelling together, avoid burning garbage, and limit outdoor activities when pollution is high.

Special caution is urged for children, the elderly, and those with respiratory problems, including mandatory use of masks. People experiencing respiratory issues should contact the nearest hospital or health centre immediately.

The increase in pollution is linked to recent weather changes, especially affecting urban areas like the Kathmandu Valley. The Ministry of Health has also requested everyone to take extra care of their health during this period.
