Proportional representation vote counting for HoR elections concludes
Kathmandu: The counting of votes under the proportional representation system for the House of Representatives election has been completed.
With the recent conclusion of counting in Gorkha 1 and Ilam 1, the overall proportional representation counting is now finished, said Kul Bahadur GC, Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission.
The commission is now working to determine the allocation of seats for political parties under this system, a process expected to conclude in the coming days.
As of 11:00 am today, a total of 10,739,115 votes have been counted. The Rastriya Swatantra Party leads with 5,139,235 votes, followed by the Nepali Congress with 1,749,583 votes and the CPN-UML with 1,448,854 votes. Other parties include the Nepali Communist Party with 805,773 votes, the Shram Sanskriti Party with 378,649 votes, and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party with 329,472 votes.
Parties that did not meet the three percent threshold of total valid votes under the proportional representation system are excluded from seat allocation.
