Free and Fair Elections Key to Solving National Issues: Sudurpaschim CM Shah
Kailali, March 10 — Kamal Bahadur Shah, Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, has said that free and fair elections play a vital role in addressing national challenges and strengthening democracy.
Speaking at a press conference in Kailali District on Tuesday, Shah emphasised that periodic elections are essential to maintaining a healthy, robust democratic system. According to him, elections not only bring new leadership but also create opportunities for policy reforms.
He stated that regular elections foster social harmony and political stability and contribute to the institutional development of democratic governance. Describing elections as the backbone of democracy, Shah said they help strengthen the system and its institutions.
The Chief Minister also noted that issues such as social justice, transparency, political and administrative reforms, and good governance were among the key demands raised during recent public movements, which led to the holding of the House of Representatives Election in Nepal.
On the occasion, Shah also expressed gratitude to Ram Chandra Paudel, President of Nepal, and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the Prime Minister, for ensuring the successful conduct of the election.
