Election Code of Conduct to Be Deactivated from Midnight
Kathmandu, March 9 — Election Commission Nepal has announced that the Election Code of Conduct introduced for the recent elections will be lifted from midnight today.
According to EC spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, the commission decided on Sunday.
The Election Code of Conduct, 2082 BS, came into effect on January 18 to ensure free, fair, and impartial elections for members of the National Assembly of Nepal and the House of Representatives of Nepal.
In a statement, the commission said the code, implemented under the provisions of the Election Commission Act, 2073 BS, and the Election Code of Conduct, 2082 BS, will automatically become inactive from midnight today following the completion of the election process.
