Final rites of Shrestha killed in Iran’s attack performed in Aryaghat

Gorkha: The final rites of Diwas Shrestha, a Nepali migrant worker killed in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in an attack by Iran, were performed in Pashupati Aryaghat on Saturday.

The dead body of Shrestha, a permanent resident of Bhimsenthapa Rural Municipality-7 at Borlang Thatigaun, was repatriated to Nepal with the facilitations of the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi.

Ward Chairman of Bhimsenthapa Rural Municipality-7 Narayan Shrestha confirmed that the final rites of Diwas were held in Pashupati Aryaghat on Saturday.

Shrestha’s body was brought home on a flight of Air Arabia on Saturday.

The 29-year-old Shrestha died last Sunday as he was working as a security guard for a Middle East company.

He died while attempting to deactivate a drone at Zayed International Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Diwas had gone to the UAE some three years ago for employment. He had flown to the UAE some five months ago after spending his vacation with his family.

Diwas leaves behind his parents and a sister, a family source said. RSS
