PM Sushila Karki Reviews Election Security Preparedness with Chiefs

Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Monday held a high-level meeting with chiefs of Nepal’s security agencies to review preparations and the overall security arrangements for the upcoming March 5 House of Representatives elections.
The Prime Minister invited top security officials to her official residence in Baluwatar to assess the country’s security situation and readiness ahead of the polls.
Among those present at the meeting were Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal, Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel, Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha, Chief of the Peace and Security Division at the Ministry of Home Affairs Ananda Kafle, Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki, Inspector General of Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, and Chief of the National Investigation Department Tekendra Karki.
The meeting reviewed the current security environment, strategies adopted for election security, possible challenges, and measures in place to address emerging risks.
During the discussion, Prime Minister Karki expressed satisfaction over the existing security arrangements for the elections. However, she directed security agencies to remain vigilant and fully prepared to tackle any potential threats to ensure free, fair and peaceful polls.
