Three-day public holiday announced for HoR elections
Kathmandu: The government has decided to accept financial assistance of 4 million US dollars from the Chinese government for the upcoming House of Representatives elections.
Government Spokesperson and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal said a meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Monday decided to declare a three-day public holiday for the elections scheduled for March 5.
Public holidays will be observed on March 4, 5 and 6 across the country.

The Cabinet also approved the financial investment framework for the Budhi Gandaki Reservoir Hydropower Project, as mentioned in the budget for the current fiscal year.
Similarly, the meeting decided to appoint Dr Diwakar Bhatta, District Judge at the Kathmandu District Court, as Chairperson of the Consumer Court Kathmandu. The Cabinet also determined the public holidays for the year 2083 BS.
The Council of Ministers further decided to form a Gen Z Council, Spokesperson Aryal added.
