EC Accelerates Distribution of Ballot Papers to Provinces
Kathmandu, Feb 21: The Election Commission (EC) has intensified the distribution of ballot papers and other election materials to constituencies across Nepal ahead of the upcoming polls.
According to EC officials, ballot papers have already been delivered to Sudurpaschim, Karnali, and Koshi provinces, while transportation to other provinces, including Bagmati, is ongoing.
The printing of ballots for both the first-past-the-post (FPTP) and proportional representation (PR) systems for the House of Representatives elections has been completed. For the FPTP system, 20,323,000 ballot papers have been printed, packed, and dispatched to 165 constituencies across 77 districts.
The EC began distributing ballots from Karnali Province on February 12 and has since continued the delivery to other provinces. In total, the commission has listed 51 different types of election materials required for smooth polling.
Officials confirmed that the transportation process is proceeding steadily to ensure all constituencies receive the materials well ahead of voting day.
