NCC Delegation Calls on PM Karki

Kathmandu, Feb 13: A delegation of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) from Nepal and four South Asian countries paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shushila Karki at her official residence in Baluwatar on Friday.

The meeting was held as part of a youth exchange programme involving cadets from Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bhutan and the Maldives. The visiting team comprised 20 members from India, 12 from Pakistan, nine from Bhutan and five from the Maldives.

During the interaction, Prime Minister Karki expressed confidence that such exchange initiatives would help deepen friendship, enhance mutual understanding and promote cooperation among youths of the participating nations. She also extended her best wishes to the delegates for a pleasant and memorable stay in Nepal.

Youth exchange and training programmes conducted by army-affiliated organisations aim to nurture disciplined, responsible and capable young leaders.

In Nepal, the National Cadet Corps Nepal annually provides junior and senior division training to approximately 7,710 students at the secondary and higher secondary levels.
