US Indo-Pacific Commander Admiral Paparo arriving today on three-day Nepal visit

Kathmandu, Feb 12: Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), Admiral Samuel J. Paparo, is arriving in Kathmandu today on a three-day official visit to Nepal.

According to the Nepal Army (NA), Admiral Paparo is scheduled to hold official meetings during his stay and visit the Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre (BPOTC) in Panchkhal.

The NA’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information stated that the visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations between Nepal and the United States, particularly in areas such as humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and international peacekeeping.

The Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre serves as the Nepal Army’s primary facility for training personnel for United Nations peacekeeping missions. Nepal is one of the leading troop-contributing countries to UN peace operations.

Admiral Paparo’s visit is taking place as per a pre-set programme, the Nepal Army said.
