Four held for attacking APF Personnel in Birgunj

February 10, Kathmandu: Police have arrested four people for attacking Armed Police Force (APF) personnel during a raid on an illegally operated warehouse in Birgunj on Monday.

The incident occurred in the Adarshanagar area when a joint team from the Birgunj Customs Office and the APF raided the godown following a tip-off about goods smuggling.

Three APF personnel were injured in the attack. Two vehicles were also damaged during the incident, police said.

Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Parsa, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet said the four assailants were taken into custody by Monday night.

He said further investigation is under way using CCTV footage related to the attack on APF personnel.

Basnet said details of those arrested will be made public later as the investigation continues.

Police also seized goods worth Rs 1.25 million from the warehouse.
