Church Boys United Advance to Budha Subba Gold Cup Semifinals

Dharan, Feb 8 — Church Boys United Kathmandu have secured a place in the semifinals of the 26th International Invitational Budha Subba Gold Cup underway at Dharan Stadium.

The Kathmandu-based side advanced after registering a narrow 1–0 victory over Nepal Police Club in a match played on Sunday. Richard Wilson scored the match-winning goal for Church Boys United, playing a crucial role in the team’s progression.

For his outstanding performance, Wilson was named ‘Man of the Match’ and awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000.

In the next fixture, tournament host Dharan Football Club will face Laligurans FC Pokhara on Monday.

The tournament, which began on February 4, will run until February 14. The champions will take home a cash prize of Rs 1 million along with the championship trophy, while the runners-up will receive Rs 500,000. Additionally, the best player of the tournament will be rewarded with a scooter, according to the organizers.
