Clarifications sought from 34 election code violators, 24 responses received

Kathmandu: The central committee on monitoring of the election code of conduct has so far sought clarifications from 34 violators of the election code of conduct- political parties and leaders.

Among these, 24 have furnished responses, according to the Election Commission (EC).

Joint Secretary and Spokesperson at the EC, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, informed that complaints were received at the district level as well, and actions were forwarded accordingly.

The code of conduct monitoring committees are in effect at the central office and districts as well. The monitoring officers are working actively to minimize the violation of the code of conduct, he added.

All parties concerned have been made aware of the strict adherence to the election code of conduct to ensure the House of Representatives (HoR) election is free and fair. RSS
