Prime Minister working to address health insurance concerns

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has taken steps to address public concerns over the health insurance scheme.

She has called a meeting this afternoon at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers to discuss the issue with concerned parties.

Several hospitals across the country have stopped providing services under the scheme, citing unpaid dues from the Health Insurance Board.

Health service providers have said it has become difficult to continue as payments for past services have not been received.

The Health Insurance Board has reported that over 10 billion rupees are still pending for health institutions nationwide.
