HoR Polls: EC Publishes Final PR Candidate List of 3,135

Kathmandu, Feb 3: The Election Commission on Monday released the final closed list of candidates under the Proportional Representation (PR) system for the March 5 election to the House of Representatives.

According to the Commission, a total of 3,135 candidates from 63 political parties will be contesting the PR segment of the election, representing 57 different election symbols.

In a statement issued by Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, it was stated that the final list comprises 1,772 women and 1,363 men candidates.

The Commission said the publication of the closed list marks a key procedural step in the preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
