President Paudel to embark on official visit to Japan tonight
Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel is set to embark on an official visit to Japan at the cordial invitation of the Government of Japan, marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
President Paudel will depart tonight at 11:30 pm on a Nepal Airlines flight.
According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, President Paudel, on Monday, will attend a special reception hosted on behalf of the Government of Japan by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Horii Iwao to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Nepal–Japan diplomatic relations. Prior to the reception, the State Minister will pay a courtesy call on the President.
President Paudel is scheduled to pay a State call on Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Tuesday. He will also hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae on the same day.
During the visit, President Paudel will also meet members of the Japanese business community and attend a reception hosted in his honour by the Embassy of Nepal.
The President will be accompanied by his spouse, Sabita Paudel, and senior government officials. He is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on Wednesday.
