Lipulekh voters from Chhangru and Tinkar to cast ballots at Darchula headquarters
Khalanga (Darchula), Jan 25: Ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, the Darchula District Election Office has set up two temporary polling centers at the district headquarters in Khalanga for voters from remote areas.
Voters from Chhangru of Byas Rural Municipality-1 and Tinkar village will cast their ballots at these centers due to the geographical isolation and seasonal challenges in their home areas. Chief Election Officer Bhuvan Giri said that many residents from Chhangru and Tinkar are currently staying in Khalanga, and the temporary arrangement ensures they can vote without difficulty.
The polling stations have been arranged as follows: Chhangru voters will vote at Kailashpati Basic School, while Tinkar voters will use Moti Mahila Sangh Basic School. There are 375 registered voters at Kailashpati and 244 at Moti Mahila Sangh. For comparison, the 2079 BS election recorded 383 registered voters in Chhangru and 234 in Tinkar.
Giri confirmed that local elections have previously been conducted successfully in these areas, highlighting the district’s preparedness for the upcoming polls.
