HoR election: EC scraps Resham Chaudhary’s nomination

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has informed that it scrapped a nomination paper filed by Resham Chaudhary as the candidate of the House of Representatives election from constituency-1 of Kailali after conducting an investigation into the complaint lodged against him.

According to Assistant Spokesperson at the Election Commission, Kul Bahadur GC, the complaints lodged against the HoR election candidates from constituency-2 of Sunsari, constituency-1 of Rautahat, and constituency-2 of Bhaktapur lacked sufficient claims.

Similarly, the registration of the complaint in Rautahat district was rejected on Wednesday.

The investigation into the complaints had begun from 3:00pm on Wednesday, which concluded at 5:00pm on Thursday.

The Election Commission is publishing the list of the candidates under the first-past-the-post shortly.
