Complaint filing against candidates begins today
Kathmandu: The Election Commission has opened the process of filing complaints against candidates who registered their nomination papers for the House of Representatives election.
According to the election schedule, complaints can be filed from 10 am to 3 pm today against candidates whose nomination papers are found ineligible.
Complaints can be submitted to the Election Officer of the concerned constituency.
Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Kul Bahadur GC, said the nomination papers and registered complaints will be scrutinised from 3 pm today to 5 pm tomorrow. The list of eligible candidates will be published between 5 pm and 7 pm the same day.
Candidates may withdraw their nominations from 10 am to 1 pm on Friday. The final list of candidates will be published from 1 pm to 3 pm on the same day, and election symbols will be allotted from 4 pm to 7 pm.
According to the Commission, a total of 3,486 candidates have registered so far, including 3,089 men, 396 women, and one third-gender candidate.
