UML Picks Ishwar Pokharel for Kathmandu Constituency No. 5
Kathmandu, Jan 19: The CPN (UML) has nominated senior leader Ishwar Pokharel as its candidate for Kathmandu Constituency No. 5 in the upcoming House of Representatives election.
UML Kathmandu district chair Deepak Niraula said the decision was finalized on Monday. Pokharel had previously contested elections from the same constituency during the last House of Representatives polls as well as the Constituent Assembly election.
According to Chair Niraula, candidate selections have been completed for all Kathmandu constituencies except Constituency No. 4. The party’s finalized candidates include Mohan Regmi for Constituency No. 1, Maniram Phuyal for Constituency No. 2, Rameshwar Phuyal for Constituency No. 3, Amanman Maske for Constituency No. 6, Prakash Shrestha for Constituency No. 7, Raju Shakya for Constituency No. 8, Ajaykranti Shakya for Constituency No. 9, and Binod Shrestha for Constituency No. 10.
The party is expected to announce its candidate for Kathmandu Constituency No. 4 soon.
