Deuba faction of Nepali Congress to challenge Election Commission decision in Court
January 17, Kathmandu: The Sher Bahadur Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress has decided to go to the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s decision.
A meeting of the Deuba faction held in Sanepa on Friday concluded that the Commission’s decision to grant legitimacy to the central working committee elected by the party’s special general convention should be challenged through legal means.
The meeting expressed objection to the Election Commission’s decision and resolved to seek constitutional and legal remedies. It also decided to register political protest against the move, party spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat said.
