Gagan Thapa Elected as New President for Nepali Congress

Kathmandu, Jan 15: Gagan Kumar Thapa has been elected unopposed as the President of the Nepali Congress during the party’s second special convention held in Kathmandu. Sitaram KC, Coordinator of the Central Election Committee, confirmed that Thapa was the sole candidate for the position, declaring him elected without contest.

Addressing party leaders, cadres, and well-wishers at the convention, Thapa pledged to strengthen the party and uphold its dignity. “With the trust you have placed in me, I will ensure no one bows their head and every member feels proud to be part of the Nepali Congress. The party will continue to stand by citizens, especially in difficult times,” he said.

Thapa’s unopposed election marks a new chapter for the Nepali Congress as it seeks to consolidate its leadership and reconnect with its members and the public.
