Minister Kharel Urges Voters to Elect Good Leadership in March 5 Election

Kathmandu, Jan 12: Minister for Communications, Information and Technology Jagadish Kharel has stressed that the upcoming March 5 House of Representatives election is key to laying the foundation for change in the country.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 20th Annual General Assembly of the Educational Consultancy Association of Nepal (ECAN) on Monday, Minister Kharel urged citizens to exercise their voting rights responsibly. “The country is seeking change. Good leadership, regardless of political affiliation, must be elected to prevent old tendencies from recurring,” he said, encouraging eligible voters to choose leaders who prioritize the nation’s interests.

The Minister expressed concern that nation-building has remained incomplete, citing the prevalence of politics driven by family and factional interests, and coalition-building aimed solely at gaining power. He emphasized that individuals should focus on performing good deeds independently, rather than seeking personal gain or succumbing to political pressure.

Recalling his previous collaboration with ECAN during his journalism career, Minister Kharel pledged ongoing support for the organization, irrespective of the position or profession he may hold in the future. He also acknowledged ECAN’s significant role in the education sector and its contribution to the national economy.

ECAN President Sheshraj Bhattarai highlighted the organization’s pivotal role in coordinating educational consultancies across Nepal and producing skilled human resources through quality education.
