Kathmandu records lowest winter temperature at 2.4°C
Kathmandu, Jan 9: Temperatures across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, have dropped in recent days, with Kathmandu recording a minimum of 2.4°C on Friday—the lowest this winter so far, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Meteorologist Binu Maharjan said the nationwide temperature decline has been noticeable since early January and advised people to take precautions against the biting cold.
Other districts have also experienced significant drops in temperature. Despite sunny days, mornings and evenings remain particularly cold. Jumla recorded the lowest temperature in the country at -7.7°C, followed by Jomsom at -5°C and Jiri in Dolakha at -2.1°C.
The chilly weather is expected to continue, prompting authorities and residents to remain cautious.
