Nepal closely following recent developments in Venezuela

January 9, Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has said it has been closely following the recent developments in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that “Nepal calls upon all parties concerned to exercise maximum restraint and to avoid actions that may further escalate tensions.

It stated that Nepal underscores the importance of fully respecting the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of states, as enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.

According to the Ministry, Nepal emphasizes that disputes should be resolved peacefully through dialogue, diplomacy and mutual understanding.
