Wild Elephant Found Dead in Jhapa

Baniyani (Jhapa), Jan 6: A wild elephant was found dead this morning in Dandagaun, Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-3, Jhapa.

The male elephant was discovered on the farm of local resident Lal Bahadur Rasaili, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Khagendra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office, Jhapa. Teams from the Area Police Office, Budhabare, and the Division Forest Office, Jhapa, have reached the site to investigate.

Forest Officer Himal Pathak noted that this is the second elephant death in the district during the current fiscal year. In the same period, four people have also lost their lives due to elephant attacks in Jhapa.
