Curfew in Birgunj extended until 6 pm

Birgunj: The District Administration Office, Parsa, has extended the curfew in Birgunj Metropolitan City until 6 pm this evening.

The curfew was initially imposed from 6 pm yesterday to 8 am today and later extended to 1 pm amid tensions over social and religious issues.

Parsa Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal said authorities are coordinating with all agencies to maintain social harmony and appealed for unity to ensure peace.

Essential service vehicles will be allowed during the curfew, and residents are urged to coordinate with security if they need to leave their homes.

Gatherings, rallies, and demonstrations remain banned in key areas, including Bus Park, Sirsiya River, Gandak Chowk, and Shankaracharya Gate.
