Five identified among six killed in Makwanpur Sumo Crash

January 5, Kathmandu: Four of the six people who died in a Sumo vehicle accident in Makwanpur have been identified, police said.
The accident occurred on Sunday evening at Jurikhet in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality–6. All six victims died at Hetauda Hospital. The identity of one victim is still unknown.
According to Makwanpur District Police, the deceased have been identified as 42-year-old Rajnish Kumar of Patna, Bihar; 40-year-old Sabita Lamsal of Hetauda–4; 29-year-old Nikhil Agrawal of Hetauda–2; 56-year-old Krishna Prasad Phuyal of Hetauda-10, and 50-year-old Arbind Kumar of Begusarai, Bihar.
Three people were injured in the crash. They include the driver, 45-year-old Ganesh Thapa of Hetauda–4, 12-year-old Abhyas Lamsal, and 21-year-old Richa Chaudhary of Chandrapur–2, Rautahat. They were first treated at Hetauda Hospital and later referred to a medical college in Bharatpur, Chitwan.
The Sumo (Na 1 Ja 1778), which was travelling from Kathmandu to Hetauda, fell about 100 meters off the road at Jurikhet along the Bhimphedi–Kulekhani–Kathmandu road section.
