Govt Focused on Good Governance and Public Service Delivery: Home Minister Aryal
Kathmandu, Dec 30: Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal has emphasized that the interim government is committed to promoting good governance and enhancing public service delivery across the country.
Minister Aryal made the remarks during an on-site visit to the Nepal-India Integrated Check Post at Buddhanagar in Morang, operational since 2020. He was in Biratnagar on Monday to attend a one-day Koshi Province-level security seminar at Buddhanagar, according to his secretariat.
Highlighting the government’s priorities, Aryal said ensuring a peaceful and secure environment ahead of the House of Representatives election on March 5, 2026, is paramount. He added that economic activities can thrive only when peace and security are assured.
Addressing local demands, the Minister acknowledged the need for a dedicated security force at the Check Post, which spans 129 bigaha of land, and pledged coordination with relevant ministries and agencies for its deployment.
During his visit, Aryal also inspected the District Administration Office building in Morang, which had been damaged during the Gen-Z movement and subsequently renovated. Additionally, he reviewed the army-managed holding centre established during the COVID-19 pandemic, currently lying vacant.
Chief District Officer Yuwaraj Kattel briefed Minister Aryal on the restoration of damaged infrastructure and ongoing public service initiatives prioritized by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
