HoR Elections: Political Parties to Submit PR Candidate Lists Today and Tomorrow

Kathmandu, Dec 28: Political parties participating in the March 5 House of Representatives election are required to submit their proportional representation (PR) candidate lists to the Election Commission by today and tomorrow.

The Election Commission has completed all preparations for receiving the closed lists under the proportional election system.

Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai told RSS that the lists submitted on December 28 and 29 will undergo validation starting January 4. After validation, parties will be asked to reconcile any discrepancies from January 5 to 11. The final PR candidate lists are scheduled for publication on February 3.

Bhattarai also confirmed that a total of 100 political parties have registered to take part in the proportional representation election. Only these registered parties are eligible to submit their closed lists during the two-day window.
