NAMD office bearers seek PM Karki’s support for research
Kathmandu: Office bearers of the Nepal Academy of Music and Drama (NAMD) paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki on Wednesday. PM Karki is an ex-officio patron of the Academy.
A team comprising Chancellor Nisha Sharma and Vice-Chancellor Shambhu Rai, among others reached the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and met with PM Karki. The delegation wished the government formed in difficult circumstance successfully fulfilled its mandate.
On the occasion, Chancellor Sharma briefed the Prime Minister about the Academy’s status and future plans. She complained that although conservation activities should be carried out by conducting study and research on song, music and drama genre in the country, it was not in the state’s priority.
Chancellor Sharma mentioned that the Academy had been running its activities from temporary huts, expecting government’s support for the reconstruction of its office building.
In response, PM Karki shared that she would take necessary initiatives to support in the construction of Academy’s office building by consulting the concerned ministry and other bodies, according to PM’s Secretariat.
