6th Tiger Cup Volleyball Tournament to Kick Off on January 23
Kaski, Dec 23 — The sixth edition of the Tiger Cup National/International Invitational Open Club Championship Volleyball Tournament is scheduled to begin on January 23, 2026.
The tournament will feature 14 teams in total, with seven women’s and seven men’s teams competing for the title. According to Tiger Group Chairman and tournament organizer Narayan Prasad Sharma, the competition will include four foreign teams. In the women’s category, two clubs from Thailand will take part, while the men’s section will see participation from one team each from the Maldives and Gujarat, India.
In the women’s division, the participating teams are United Passion Volleyball Club Thailand, Thailand Queens, Nepal Police Club, Nepal Army Club, Armed Police Force (APF) Club, Tiptop New Diamond Youth Sports Club and Everest Volleyball Club, Rupandehi.
The men’s competition will include the Maldives Volleyball Association, Gujarat Volleyball Club (India), Gandaki Province Volleyball Association, Parbat District Volleyball Association, along with departmental teams Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Armed Police Force.
The champions in both the men’s and women’s categories will be awarded Rs 666,666 along with a trophy and medals. The runners-up will receive Rs 366,666, while the third-placed teams will be rewarded with Rs 166,666.
Chairman Sharma informed that the total cost of organizing the tournament is estimated at around Rs 18 million. He urged volleyball enthusiasts in Nepal and abroad to extend their support, adding that any funds saved from the event will be utilized for education, health and social development initiatives.
