Labour Ministry to launch ‘Help to Help 10 Cell’ to curb foreign employment fraud
Kathmandu, Dec 16: The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MoLESS) is set to launch the ‘Help to Help 10 Cell’ to help prevent fraudulent activities in foreign employment.
Announcing the initiative at a press conference on Tuesday marking International Migrants Day, MoLESS Secretary Dr Krishnahari Pushkar said the system will come into operation from December 23.
He noted that cases of workers being cheated due to misleading information circulated through social media and digital platforms have been rising in recent years. The new mechanism aims to provide official information and ensure a safer environment for people seeking foreign employment.
Through the ‘Help to Help 10 Cell’, prospective migrant workers will receive clear answers to 10 key issues, including countries with labour demand, licensed recruitment agencies, required qualifications, age limits, training and health requirements, estimated costs, payment procedures, safe travel practices, and official contact details of relevant agencies.
Secretary Pushkar said the system will link labour offices in all seven provinces, employment information centres in 753 local levels, the Department of Foreign Employment, and the Solution Call Center, creating an integrated information network for migrant workers.
