Qatar highlights peace mediation, charity, and Nepal ties at National Day event

December 15, Kathmandu: The Embassy of the State of Qatar on Monday organised a reception in Kathmandu to mark Qatar National Day. Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Qatar’s Ambassador to Nepal, Mishal Mohammed Ali Al Ansari, stated that Qatar has been actively mediating peace talks in various parts of the world and will continue to support dialogue and the peaceful resolution of conflicts. He also highlighted the humanitarian work of Qatar Charity, including its activities in Nepal.
The Ambassador stated that Nepal and Qatar share mutual respect, friendship, and a sense of brotherhood, which is strengthened by close people-to-people ties. He also referred to Qatar’s participation in the Sagarmatha Sambad, Nepal’s global climate and sustainability dialogue, underscoring Doha’s interest in collaborative solutions to climate change and environmental challenges.
The Ambassador also recalled the visit of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, to Nepal as a milestone in bilateral relations.
Politicians, diplomats from various countries, government officials, businesspersons, journalists and people from different walks of life were present at the event.
