EC allocates symbols to parties under PR for March 5 elections

December 13, Kathmandu: The Election Commission of Nepal has allocated election symbols to political parties participating in the proportional representation system for the House of Representatives member elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.

According to Assistant Election Officer, Yagya Prasad Bhattarai, applications for participation in the proportional system were submitted over three days: December 6-8, 2025.

Although 100 parties applied, some parties jointly applied for single symbols, resulting in a total of 93 election symbols being finalised.

Symbols have been assigned based on the proportional votes received in the 2022 House of Representatives election, with additional symbols allocated according to the registration order.
