30 Senior Citizens Honoured in Temkemaiyung, Bhojpur
Bhojpur, Dec 2: Thirty senior citizens of Temkemaiyung Rural Municipality-4, Nagi, were honoured for their contributions to society at a programme organized on Monday. Among those recognized was 103-year-old Indra Bahadur Rai, along with several other seniors aged 80 and above.
During the event, the ward office presented the honourees with letters of recognition and warm clothing. Koshi Province Assembly member Binod Wantaba emphasized that all levels of government should be committed to the care, medical support, security, and protection of senior citizens’ rights.
Saroj Basnet, Chairperson of the rural municipality, said the programme would help instil respect for culture among future generations, highlighting that senior citizens are the pride of the nation. Ward Chairperson Harka Raj Rai added that it is the duty of both the ward office and the local community to honour senior citizens.
