Nine injured in Gen Z protest provided with hand-outs, identity cards

December 1, Kathmandu: Nine people injured during the Gen Z protest held on September 8–9 have received handouts and identity cards in Chitwan district. Assistant Chief District Officer Chudamani Sharma Gautam said two more names have been recommended to the Ministry of Home Affairs for relief assistance.

Although the total number of people injured during the protest in the district is 142, only eleven have so far approached the authority for handouts.

According to him, the expected number of injured individuals has not come forward for the relief. “Some have said they were only slightly injured and therefore did not feel the need to visit authorities for any handout,” he added.

The district administration has also urged the Gen Z leaders in the district to submit written details of the injured ones. The government has decided to provide Rs 20,000 as financial assistance to those who were injured in the Gen Z protest.
