Deadline for registering new parties for upcoming HoR elections expires today

Kathmandu: The Election Commission’s deadline for registering new parties for the upcoming House of Representatives elections ends today.

Parties already registered with the commission must re-register for election purposes.

The House of Representatives elections are scheduled for March 5, while the National Assembly elections are set for January 25.

So far, 126 parties have received official recognition, and the final number will be confirmed this evening.

Meanwhile, separate registration for the House of Representatives elections will be open from  November 17-26, and for the National Assembly elections from November 17-23.
