Hong Kong Super Sixes: Nepal defeats India by 92 runs
November 8, Kathmandu: Nepal defeated India by 92 in a match held under the Hong Kong Super Sixes tournament. In the match that was played at Mong Kok, Hong Kong, Nepal won the toss today and elected to bat first, scoring 137 runs without losing any wickets in the allotted six overs.
For Nepal, openers Sundeep Jora scored 47 runs in 12 balls , while Rashid Khan scored 55 runs in 17 balls was retired hurt after completing a half-century. Lokesh Bam then joined Jora to score 31 runs not out in 7 balls. In reply, India were all out in 3 overs, with just 45 runs on the board. Only Bharat Chipli and Priyank Panchal scored in double figures, with 12 runs each.
The likes of Robin Utthapa and captain Dinesh Kartik failed to make any impact with the bat, scoring only 5 and 7 runs respectively. For the bowling side, Rashin Khan took 3 wickets in just one over, while Basir Ahmad took two wickets and Rupesh Singh took one wicket.
This is the first win for Nepal after third consecutive defeats in the tournament. Before this, Nepal had lost to South Africa by 4 wickets, to Afghanistan by 17 runs and to Sri Lanka by 3 wickets.
